Introducing Chiquitha Malena based in Cedar Hill, Texas. She’s the proud owner of Foxxy Apparel and Cosmetics.

We first asked Chiquitha If you had 30 minutes for an INpowerment Talk what would be your main subject? What’s the topic that lights your fire?

Self Love ~ Soul Work

Everything that happen to you is a reflection of what you believe about yourself. We cannot outperform our level of self-esteem. We cannot draw to ourselves more than we think we are worth.

~Iyanla Vanzant

Tell us about the things that lead to you loving that topic and knowing you have a passion for it.

I know that I’m a very gifted individual. More than often people believed in me more than I believed in myself. Over the years I’ve had many missed opportunities come and go and I found myself stuck in many areas of my life. I made it my mission to unlock the bad fortune and break my inner glass ceiling. I had to find and dismantle the negative imprint about myself that was keeping me at a lower of self. It was truly time for me to ascend in life and live my true destiny.

On your INpowerment journey what would you say has been one of the biggest challenges you’ve faced? How did you overcome it? AND if you’re in the process of overcoming it what steps are you taking right now that are helpful to you and may encourage others?

My biggest challenge was the fear of success and my self sabotaging inner talk and behaviors. As I began my soul work I discovered that the negative imprint on my life was rejection. I studied my past and I picked myself apart to the bare root. I learned the terminology of the things that pertained to my existence. I was an empath, therefore I had to learn the power of “no”. I had to learn to protect myself from narcissistic energy. The most challenging in this process was feeling worthy of saving myself. I finally made me a priority and I feel that anyone that is facing low self esteem can rise above it and live out all their dreams and accomplishments. You’re worthy of happiness and success.

What do you love most about yourself as a woman on an INpowerment journey? What are you most proud of?

I love the fact that I’m a great listener. I learned to hear my own inner voice, therefore I have the ability to listen to others. I want to hear what a client or customer is and is not saying to me. I’m proud of this ability because it helps me to serve them in a greater capacity.

Women wear a lot of hats , sometimes we play superwoman when we aren’t feeling it, has that ever happened to you? If so, how did you handle it? If not, how do you keep it from happening to you?

LOL. I’m a INFJ personality type. Before COVID 19 I was holding down a full-time accounting job with a major corporation while owning and operating a beauty salon and boutique. I also managed an online health and wellness business. All of these things were things that I loved to do; except the time I spent at the full-time job. I was grateful for it because it funded my dreams. To do all of these things I learned to ask for help when I needed it. I learned not to be so hard on myself and take necessary breaks and time to step aside without feeling guilt or defeat.

What are your three best INpowerment tips?
1-Adopt an attitude of gratitude- learning to appreciated everything in your life will give you balance and a firm foundation in anything.
2- Learn the power in a firm yes and no. Only say yes to the things that positively enhance your life and no to the things do not benefit you in no way.
3-Trust your intuition!!! It’s the ultimate act of trusting yourself.
